Exploring Career Options

Possible Careers and Occupations

My 2 main occupations that I have chosen to work towards is a Police Officer in the QPS or a Forensic Scientist.

These occupations interest me the most as this is an exciting field to me and I feel that because I both love these ideas and my skills will help me to work towards it even further. This occupation will most likely not be greatly affected by the advance of the working world as a police officer is not a career that will be easily left out and that provides me with security in aiming to accomplish this.

In order to accomplish this, I am not required to attend university but I am planning on taking a Bachelor degree in either Criminology and Criminal Justice or that joined with Forensic Science to further my understanding and skill in that field. The degree I am aiming for is Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice/Forensics Science and is offered at Griffith University with an OP 16 entry and guaranteed entry of OP 6. The prerequisites to get into this course that I will need to take in senior school is English and Maths B. Another degree I am very interested in is the Bachelor of Justice at QUT. It has an OP 12 entry level and this degree only has assumed knowledge of English and no prerequisites.

I will need to apply and attend the QPS academy. To prepare myself while I am here at school, I am taking both prerequisites that are needed for courses as well as extra Legal Studies and Chemistry to prepare myself for university and the workforce,
